Back to the time of the Covid-19 pandemic, walls had ears. For, in the days of confinement, like prisoners communicating through their individual cells via morse code, we all became more aware of, and attuned to, our next-door inmates through their sonic existence. Luckily, not all neighborly sound is polluting — in fact, the inconspicuous beauty of a fleeting melody can resonate even in the most isolating of despair. (Sébastien Simon)
