The second program of the Special Screening section is the ¡®Goya-BAFTA Special,¡¯ which is a program to commemorate the BISFF becoming a Goya Awards qualifying festival and a BAFTA qualifying festival. The Goya Awards are Spain's main national film awards presented by the Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences in Spain. Three awards are offered to the most accomplished works in the short film category: Best Fictional Short Film, Best Documentary Short Film and Best Animated Short Film. The BISFF became the first in Korea and the second Asian film festival to be accredited by the Goya Awards. Moreover, the British Academy Film Awards (BAFTA Film Awards), which are considered to be the British equivalent of the American Academy Awards, are hosted by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts. Two awards are offered in the short film category: Best Short Film and Best Short Animation. The BISFF is the first BAFTA qualifying short film festival in Korea.
