Interactive cinema, a new film genre, focuses on non-linear narratives and audience participation in marked contrast to the traditional format, which typically focuses on linear narratives and a passive audience acceptance. For a filmmaker, therefore, this is a new tool that is distinct from conventional ones and shows us the potential of a new way of creating a film. It is fair to say that interactive cinema brings major changes to filmmaking and film viewing. The most significant change is that interactive films are created and screened online.
BISFF, among other film festivals held in Korea, will continue to be a pioneer in introducing interactive films and broadening the horizons of filmmaking.
