General Statement of International Competition

Through the 39 films, we travelled culturally and emotionally different worlds, different realities, and different vision. We thank all the filmmakers for bringing in the light unknown stories with originality and new perspectives. It is a very difficult and subjective task to choose the winners of the BISFF, so it is not a judgment on the quality of the work but a reward for the films that move us the most at this present time.

Grand Prix

Augur / David Doutel, Vasco Sá

With poetic and powerful paintings, the directors depict an intimate and mysterious relationship that reflects on life and death on human being.

Excellence Award

Patision Avenue / Thanasis Neofotistos 

In Partision Avenue, camera follows a woman who is going to an audition, showing only her back for 13 minutes in just one long take. The work allows its audiences to immerse themselves into cinematic experiences that are unique to short films.

Jury Award

Horse Riders / Anna Gawlita

Full of realism and poetic documentaries. Combine music and the rhythm of horse racing into a magical ritual. Feel the divinity in the wilderness.
