A ragged man tries to hitchhike on a deserted road. A van driver sees him and is suspicious. The driver, suspecting him of being a North Korean spy, takes him to a police station. The film depicts the widespread mistrust and prejudice against North Korean defectors in South Korea. However, the film also shows the feasibility of unity by showing the character’s ability to form a strong bond in a short period of time. To generate dramatic tension and maximize viewer immersion, the film employs a variety of techniques, including high angle shots, low saturation, and slow motion.
