International Film Competition Section Knock Knock Knock

Busan International Short Film Festival(BISFF) is the Oldest Film Festival in Korea. The 31th BISFF will be held in the city of Busan in Korea, from April 25 to April 29, 2014. BISFF has began sailing again toward its 31th edition and now opens entries for International Film Competition Section ‘Knock Knock Knock’.

In 1980, BISFF launched with the aim of creating the film-making friendly environment and finding talented film professionals. It started as a domestic festival under the name of 'Korean Short Film Festival'. It has introduced many different kinds of films, including 8mm small films and indie-movies made by students and general public. Also it has earned a reputation with a fair judgement, choosing social participating films during military dictatorship. Many young talents in those days are now taking the lead in film festivals in Korea.

BISFF renamed itself as Busan Asian Short Film Festival on May 19, 2000, intending to extend its horizon into Asia even getting entries from abroad and introducing excellent but not known Asian directors, which was the first try in Korea. It was shortly after launching Busan International Film Festival(BIFF) and it was time when BIFF was focusing on Asian Films.

Once again BISFF changed its name into Busan International Short Film Festival in 2010, expanding to the world, beyond Asia. It has provided opportunities to show new tendency in short film making at home and abroad and made a meeting place with films and audience.

Eligibility : Short Film, completed after January 1st 2013, in any type or genre with maximum 60 minutes in length
